Get away from the cold weather this February, as well as many of the challenges you probably face each day by joining fellow printers for NPOA's Second Annual Owners Conference in Fort Lauderdale, FL. 

The NPOA Owners Conference will be held at the Renaissance Plantation Hotel, Fort Lauderdale, FL, on Feb. 27-Mar. 2, 2014. Unlike many conferences we have all attended in the past, our main hotel is less than a 15-minute taxi ride from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (Airport Code: FLL).

The hotel is a modern, beautifully appointed facility offering complimentary parking, free WiFi, pool, fitness center, and most important of all, an excellent selection of ballrooms and break-out facilities ideally suited for NPOA's expanded meeting requirements.

It couldn't be easier to register-- If you're an NPOA member, our registration process couldn't be easier or faster. Sign-in at the Main NPOA Website using your User Name and Password and then complete the easy-to-use registration form. You can pay by either credit card or send a check.

Hotel Room Reservations Deadline Extended-- The Renaissance Hotel has just contacted us and told us that the deadline for making room reservations for our conference has been extended until Feb. 3, 2014. It is critically important that you reserve rooms by this date in order to be eligible for the special reduced room rate of only $159 per night.

Not a Florida Printer OR a member of NPOA?  For a limited time, we are permitting members of NAPL, NAQP, PIA, and printers from Florida to register and attend this information-packed program at the special NPOA member rate. That means instead of paying the non-member rate of $495, you can register for only $425, but we must receive your registration form no later than Jan. 31st! 

In order to register at this reduced rate, you must register online. If paying by check,  mail your check to NPOA Headquarters, 2110 S. Dairy Road, Melbourne, FL 32904. 


 Program Highlights & Speakers

We've got an exciting agenda and program coming next month, which includes many of the topics you have requested, and will feature speakers with a lot of energy, experience and information to share. Here's a sample:

Warren Werbitt, owner of Pazazz in Montreal, Canada, is a "printing fanatic" who loves printing! In 2008, his YouTube video titled, "I Love Printing" went viral and has since logged more than 254,000 views.


Larry Hunt Larry Hunt, one of the industry's most popular consultants, speakers and authors, will present a special seminar titled "Keys to Running a Successful Small Business." To run a successful small business, an owner must be able to wear many hats. They will be required to manage the growth in sales, pricing, cost controls, equipment purchases, cash flow, and employee productivity--a far different situation from working for a company in which each of these functions is typically handled by a different person. A version of this seminar was presented recently by SBA's SCORE program, and drew more than 1,000 attendees to his webinar. Hunt's seminar will concentrate on the main reasons for failure in this industry and then address the keys you need to master to avoid these pitfalls.

Jennifer MattJennifer Matt, owner and founder of WEb2Print Experts, is internationally famous for her real-world knowledge regarding how to survive and prosper in the web-to-print world. She speaks bluntly and honestly about the "insane inefficiencies that are the norm in the print buying world." Don't miss her general session on Friday afternoon. On Saturday, she will offer two special sessions regarding the specifics of going web-to-print.



David KingDavid King is a long-time columnist for Digital Graphics & Sign Business Magazine and owner of MARKETKING, in Lancaster, MA, a company considered by many as one of the best in America for large format graphics. On Saturday afternoon, David will be presenting a general session on all aspects of wide format, concentrating on pricing and profitability, followed by a breakout session addressing sales and marketing. King's company is considered by many one of the best companies in America for large format Graphics. Many in the large format industry say his real-world, down-to-earth knowledge about the large format industry is unsurpassed.


Mike Stevens

Mike Stevens, long-time successful printer and well known marketing expert, will present an idea-packed seminar, "The Ten Cornerstones of My Success." Mike, the owner of Express Press, Websites for Printers, and The PrintOwners List, recently "retired," but, not before earning millions of dollars as a printer. Now he is in a position to share the greatest secrets of his success that he was never willing to previously discuss publicly in any of his previous sales and marketing seminars. Attendees will leave inspired and full of hope. It might be his final seminar ever, so you won't want to miss this one!


John StewartJohn Stewart, long-time consultant, speaker and author, will present "Determining the Value of Your Business Can Be Painful if You're Not Prepared." Stewart's fast-paced seminar will offer a step-by-step process for determining the value of your business. Stewart will also suggest steps to be taken to improve that value in the next 18-24 months. Conference attendees will also receive a FREE copy of Print Shop For Sale, a book authored by Stewart and former industry consultant Larry Hunt. Following the presentation, Stewart will moderate a panel of three well-established former printers who successfully sold their businesses, sharing tips on on how they arrived at their valuations as well as tips on planning for a successful retirement.

As many NPOA members remember, our block of hotel rooms and the conference itself sold out more than 45 days prior to our meeting in New Orleans in April 2013. For those who would like to avoid frustrations with hotel reservations, we encourage you to book your rooms early. Our conference registration fees have been kept as low as possible this year in order to encourage as many members (and non-members) to attend this information-packed meeting.
